Barbaro: Final Fair Hill Prep for Preakness

Barbaro came to the track a little after 7:30 and took one turn, accompanied by his pony Messaging with Michael Matz. He looked very relaxed under a cloudy and rainy sky. Less than an hour later he was picking grass, ready to be shipped down to Pimlico this afternoon. Looks like he will be shipping down with Diabolical, so Fair Hill has two Preakness horses, and we are all very excited for the big day tomorrow.

As a Hunter Jumper Fan of Michael Matz, Let me say that you have an entire community routing for you this lovely Saturday. We are so pleased that Mike has found success and recognition in his new racing world, and commend everyone's efforts for the dedication and hard work it has taken to get Barbaro at the covetted spot he has realized.
Best of Luck today.. with great respect and regard,

Michael has certainly built a very quick reputation in the horse racing world, especially those of us at Fair Hill :)

I'm not a real big racing fan but Barbaro won me over coming down the stretch during the Derby and he did it again during the first hunbdred yards of the Preakness. What a magnificent horse!
