Bio

I am a psychiatric social worker (Master's in Social Work) who resides in the middle of Michigan in Flushing with my son (who gets it) and my husband (Who definetly does not get it). I have been addicted to the TWR site since right after the Preakness, and enjoy reading everything on the website. I donate to rescues when I can as well as NBC Barbaro Fund and Laminits Fund. I enjoy vacationing near WendyinMI in the picturesque area of Northport, Michigan near Traverse City. Wine country. I am also very jelous of all of you who were at the birthday party:)

I have a 7 year old son Jimmy (Named after Jimmy Buffett, just kidding) that I had when I was 35. Not that I'm giving my age. Through my addiction to this site, he to knows about Barbaro. He gets it too!

OK, I really am addicted to Jimmy Buffett and if he doesn't come to Michigan I travel to Illinois to see him. I'm in love with a horse and a parrotthead.

Horse experience

I do not own my own horse but I did jog and train standardbreds for harness racing. I fell in love with these wonderfull animals and enjoyed the years that I spent with them. I disconnected when I entered my profession but have fallen back in love because of Barbaro.

FOB activities

I enjoy chatting on the TWR website but have not been able to participate as much since the warmer weather has arrived. My yard owns me. Now that the cooler weather has arrived, I hope to get back into the room. I have met wonderfull people on the chat. I contribute when I can to whatever horse rescue reaches out to me. I live vicariously through Wendy and other Fans of Barbaro who are able to go to events and post pictures.

FOB Network

I have met several wonderful people who I have been involved with Dr. R artwork, Dr. R Birthday celebration etc. Just this past summer I started a thread for Dr. R's Birthday. Much to my surprise, I guess that also meant I was coordinating to some extent. With the awsome support of Janbot and her real coordination, it turned out a success. In all actuality, everyone coordinated, the FOB were great with input, ideas and additional gifts. It was a pleasure to work with such a wonderfull group of people. I was awe struck at the love for Dr. R and a great deal of money that was donated in his birthday honor for NBC charities. With Janbot and all the FOB, I might start the thread next year. Unless someone else wants to. Ha Ha.

I put out an SOS for the Barbaro HBO Special and a FOB Whitney sent it to me. I was touched and moved by the DVD but I continue to be overwelmed by the kindness and love shared by all FOB although we have never met. In the profession that I am in, you FOB and your random acts of kindness continue to overwelm me. I almost forgot the invitation to meet up w/a fellow FOB when I was in Florida vacationing. You guys Rock!
