Epizoopic..really who names a horse this? I bought Joe as a 4yr. It was an interesting story. I grew up in a horsey family. Joe came to my mom for training and was owned by a teenager who was in my pony club. She was a beginner rider and has been sold this 4yr ottb ex-steeplechaser. He liked to go every which way but forward. His favorite adversion was running backwards, sideways or bucking. For a horse who steeplechased he sure hated the jumps. My mom hated him and I wanted to give him a try. At 12yrs old I began to ride him. I was scared of horses that went fast due to a recent experience with a horse that had taken off with me and I had a bad fall. Joe was not fast but he sure had a bag of tricks. I beg, pleaded and did everything possible to convince my parents to buy me this horse. I had to have him! My mom traded my horse (a $400 older schoolmaster) with the girl who owned Joe. I renamed him "Mr. Jones and Me." We sure had our shares of ups and downs through the years. I rode him to my B-level in Middletown, De Pony Club. We did the 3'6" jumpers, 3rd level dressage, training level eventing and so much more. It seemed like we either did really well or he threw me off :) He was the love of my life.

Right before college my parents got divorced and had no money to send me to college. I had no car to get back to ride Joe and no resources to keep him. I ended up selling him to another high school girl and she competed him for the next three years. The money I sold him for paid for my college education :) After I had graduated college and bought another horse I got a call for her saying he wasn't working out could I buy him back? I had no money and already had another horse. I was trying to come up with the $5k she wanted when she called back to say i could have him for the shipping bill.

He was now 16yrs old and as beautiful as ever. I competed him for 2 more years before I decided he wanted an easier life. He will always be mine but is now being ridden by another high school student and he is teaching her the ropes. He is the horse of a lifetime and even at age 21yrs old he is gorgeous. He can do everything and do it well!
