Rebel
From AlexBrownRacing
Rebel is home. He is very thin and will need intensive rehab, but he will get it now. Safe and with a full belly.
7/06/07 Rebel's first night at our farm was a success! He bonded with his new pasture buddies and looooves grazing- he is in a huge grass pasture! He has been so relaxed and has allowed us to lead him around and give him lots of treats, hugs and kisses.
Tomorrow will be his spa day- we are going to give him a vetrolin bath, pull his mane and fix him up alot! I will send Jen all of the pictures tomorrow after his makeover.
Thanks so much for finding Rebel, he was in DESPERATE need of a new home. Let me know what you decide on for his name, he definitely does not look or act like a "Rebel!"
Rebel recently
DJ's Serenity, a name chosen in honor of a special friend to many and a much loved Pasture Pal. He passed over and is tending to those that cannot be rescued in time.
DJ suffered a loss of his 2 pasture pals due to a lightening strike. The entire expereince hit DJ hard and he leaned on his foster Mom for much needed support and love.
Here is DJ's latest update:
He is doing VERY well! Still skinny because he was basically emaciated when we got him, but he has definitely put on a nice amount of weight,
especially on his ribs! Yesterday he had his feet
trimmed and was a perfect gentlemen for the farrier.
When I first got him he was extremely strong to lead and wouldn't stand for a bath. Now he leads PERFECTLY and is great about bath time!
I'm going to go out to the barn later this evening
to take pictures so be on the lookout for those either tonight or first thing in the morning.
He really is such a cool horse, I love him to death.
